Why Should You Care
Dear Folks, It has been long established that our biosphere is a heavily inter-connected, interdependent mesh of entities both living and non-living. This mesh of interactions is so complex that through the tiniest of our actions, we do really trigger avalanches. This concept is elegantly encapsulated in the metaphor of the flap of a butterfly causing a typhoon halfway around the globe, known as the "Butterfly Effect"[1]. Benjamin Franklin, offered his own poetic perspective on this : For want of a nail the shoe was lost, For want of a shoe the horse was lost, For want of a horse the rider was lost, For want of a rider the battle was lost, For want of a battle the kingdom was lost, And all for the want of a horseshoe nail. Since our actions can have huge implications, it becomes our moral imperative to carefully reflect on them.
