Our Waste Management System is dismal. But for millions of informal waster workers we call rag-pickers or kabadis, our landfills would be mistaken for the himalayas. We seem to live in some form to eternal apathy and have lost all notion of the implication of our actions. That there are children rag-picking, or that around the corner there is yet another open dump, that the waste worker has no identity or that all this waste will come back to haunt us, we simply don't care.

This, therefore is my meek attempt to set forth the butterfly effect through posts about the plight of our waste workers and examples to emulate from more developed nations. There will be stories sourced from credible media and ideas regarding how technology can bring its promise to the bottom of the pyramid. I read literature on waste management and try to present key takeaways in my posts hoping that some of you will start to care too.
